Yay 2015!

Frosty Morning by Tasha Maríe//

Happy New Year!
I know it's super late, but it's January so it still counts.

We moved house mid November and the Sky engineer guy has just installed our internet today. After 8 weeks of me shouting and wailing down the phone to them ("how are we supposed to live like this?!?") it turns out they've been trying to connect the line to the wrong house. Good one Sky. Today's engineer was totally baffled as it has literally been a 5 minute job.

It looks like this year is going to be a busy one for us now. We got engaged on Christmas Eve (eeep!) and this has now forced us to think about plans further ahead than next weeks dinner schedule.

I've always been pretty good with savings and there's nothing I love more than a well-put-together spreadsheet, but I have gone mad with budgets, brochures and planning. Tom thinks the power has gone to my head. We now have a joint bank account, Martin Lewis is God in my eyes, there are wedding and house brochures spilling off the dining table and everything has to be in individual plastic folders. But like, everything. There's even one for my engagement ring receipts.

We're getting married next Summer and we've realised we definitely want to buy our first home before then. I don't see the point in spending thousands on the wedding and then go home to a crappy rented house. *whispers - I mean, this one has artex on every single wall* I've dreamt of our first home for so long, it's a bit of a shock that we've finally committed to it. So the house search is on, the wedding planning is in full swing and every night I have nightmares of waking up on the morning of my wedding and realising I forgot to buy a dress, or book the registrar or tell Tom what date the wedding was going to be and he's still at home on the PlayStation.

To be honest, I'm still on a high from actually getting the internet back. It surprised me how much I struggled without it and how often I check my instagram on my phone without realising it. But let's face it, no Pinterest when you've just got engaged and your buying your first house is never going to be anything other than absolute hell.
